He doesn't look dead because when he fell from the tree, he only got a few scratches on his face. He doesn't look dead because he looks so peaceful, so still, his big brown eyes shut because she closed them, mimicking something as simple as sleep. He doesn't look dead because Olivia refuses to belive her eight year old brother could possibly be dead.
They're in a barn. Rather, she's in the barn, because Alec can't be alive anymore. People who don't move, people who don't breath, and people who don't even bleed can't possibly be alive anymore.
